Another charity affected by the massive data breach suffered by a third party company has contacted its users to say that their information has been compromised.

George House Trust, an HIV charity based in Manchester, sent out emails to say that material has been downloaded by hackers but not published. The affected database contained personal information such as addresses, email addresses, telephone numbers, and "notes and records" regarding how users have engaged with the organisation.

This stems from the hack of technology company Beacon, wich operates a databse system used by more than 1,000 charities across the UK. We reported that Beacon became aware on 29 July, and the affected charities were informed on 3 August, five days later. George House Trust then contacted its users after another three weeks, saying it waited until it had a "fuller understanding" of what had happened.
