The Scam Hound has been created by Laura Cannon and Lee Burton - former presenters who worked together on 107.7 The Wolf and Signal 107. Since then, they have remained great friends, and when Laura was nearly scammed out of £400 on an advanced Airbnb scam, it became apparent that there was no single resource to offer advice - no space to report to a dedicated website where others could share their knowledge - and in that moment, something great was created by something negative. A quick call to Lee, a discussion about her concept and plan, and he was on board. Together, this site has evolved, grown in its reach, and expanded its ideas and concepts. From the original awareness site, we now aim to be the only scam resource in the UK you need.
At The Scam Hound, we believe in the power of information and community support. We collaborate with UK councils, government, police, and businesses to spread awareness and provide assistance to victims of scams. Through our ongoing initiatives and advocacy work, we strive to create a culture of trust and safety. Join us in our fight against scams and help us make a difference in the lives of those affected.
To work again with Lee Burton is an absolute pleasure. Always looking for more to add to my day I am currently a residential landlady and accommodation provider for the Ironbridge Gorge which keeps the wolf from the door and means I can spend time with Lee creating this site. My former presenting skills are still coming into play as we look to expand into social media to build our members base. I'm delighted to be working with Laura again - she has such a strong focus and loves to dedicate herself to something she believes in.
