Two people have been arrested in connection with a vehicle scam operating in Worthing.
The scammers are targeting the vulnerable and elderly. Multiple reports in Worthing have been forwarded to the police by victims being targeted by a man and a woman who claim their vehicle has been hit.
They collect the victims' information and offer a fake repair estimate, urging them to pay in cash rather than filing an insurance claim.
The police have been informed about this matter and have arrested a 38-year-old woman and a 48-year-old man from Findon on suspicion of fraud by false representation. They have been released on bail while further inquiries are conducted.
