Be vigilant for fake concert & festival tickets for headline acts being advertised on social media, messaging apps, online market places or look-a-like websites.
In the midst of summer festivals are plentiful both large and small and having an event to look forward to adds a little spring in our step. Be aware when purchasing tickets that AI has been used to create duplicate ticket sales and fake tickets, which means that when you arrive, all chipper and excited you will be refused entry. The UK Home Office reports that one in ten concert goers bought a fake ticket in the last 12 months.
Fake websites use cloned ticket pages, real event images, convincing branding and fake reviews to encourage fast payment. These website and links are very similar to the real thing with a minor misspelling which can be easily scan read over. Report Fraud have seen 3,700 cases in a recent baseline single year representing over £1.6 million in financial losses.
* Use official websites only
* Check the URL's to make sure you have the correct safe site
* Check reviews from trusted sources for the site you're purchasing from
* Do not meet people outside the venue to get your tickets
* If the tickets are much cheaper sadly this is most likely a scam
